Silversmithing Design Project

As a part of my final module this year for my degree, I was required to design a 2D project. I decided to explore my silversmithing skills learnt so far and took inspiration from some of the things important to me.

I was inspired by some Russian dolls I was given as a child and the fascinating ‘containment’ element of them - like 5 luxuries in one!

I developed this concept through into some kitchenalia ideas and landed on a collection of 5 measuring vessels for baking or cooking all contained within each other like a Russian doll.

As well as designing for my degree I also sent an application for the Goldsmiths Crafts and Design Council’s 2D Silversmithing Competition. So, I thought why not share my designs on here? I think that it would be a really interesting project to take into manufacturing and maybe this will be possible in the not too distant future.
